Guo Xiaoshan, also known as Huachi, was born in October 1943 in a poor and scholarly family in Mangdangshan, Henan. My father was a patriotic patriot who served as an underground liaison officer for the Party during the Anti Japanese War and went through many ups and downs throughout his life. Since his youth, Mr. Xiaoshan has loved calligraphy and pursued literary and artistic pursuits. After graduating from normal school in 1968, he volunteered to teach in the harsh environment of Si County in northern Anhui for forty years. In my spare time of teaching, I read extensively, and when encountering classic Buddhist scriptures,

I repeatedly study and imitate them, often becoming intoxicated. In the 1970s and 1980s, I visited several famous book exhibitions and listened to expert lectures in Zhengzhou, Qingdao, Beijing, and other places. Having climbed Mount Taishan, visited Qufu, walked to Luoyang, went to Hangzhou, and visited famous mountains and rivers, it is good to have a broad mind. In calligraphy, Mr. Xiaoshan is good at cursive writing, especially fond of large grass. I believe that cursive script should be based on the two kings, and draw inspiration from Zhang Xu, Huai Su, Zhu Yunming, Wang Duo, and others. Focusing on the Eight Extremes and wandering the mind, we pay attention to the use of pens, ink, structure, and organization, achieving agile and dynamic strokes, with a clear opening and closing,

vivid and magnificent atmosphere. Since the 1980s and 1990s, he has participated in numerous calligraphy exhibitions both domestically and internationally, and his works have entered Japan, Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, and Hong Kong. In 1998, he was awarded the International Gold Award at the Peace Cup. In terms of literature, I mainly focus on poetry. Since the reform and opening up, I have created nearly a hundred poems, passionately praising the earth shaking changes China has achieved in the past 40 years, the magnificent landscape of ancient civilization, and the rapidly changing new face. On the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the National Poetry and Motto Competition won a special gold medal and was favored by the Chinese people. Mr. Xiaoshan is a national calligraphy master, vice president of the International Xizhi Painting Academy, and vice president of the Chinese Contemporary Famous Poets and Ci Society. In 2009, he was appointed as a member of the Presidium of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and Mr. Xiaoshan was selected as the lifelong dean of the Songzhuang International Painting and Calligraphy Academy.

    郭晓山,字华池,河南芒砀山人,1943年10月出生于一个贫寒的书香之家。父亲是位爱国志士,抗日时期做过党的地下联络员,一生历尽坎坷。自青少年起,小山先生便喜爱书法,追崇文学艺术。六八年师范毕业后,自愿到环境艰苦的皖北泗县,孜孜执教四十年。授课余暇,博览群书,遇上经典法帖,则反复研习,心摹手追,常常如醉如痴。上世纪七、八十年代,多次到郑州、青岛、北京等地观摩名家书展,聆听专家讲座。曾登泰山、游曲阜,走洛阳,下杭州,浏览名山大川,胸襟乃益广。在书法上,小山先生擅长行草,尤喜大草。认为草书应以二王为宗,以张旭,怀素、祝允明、王铎等大家为借鉴。“精骛八极,心游万仞”,注重用笔,用墨,结体,章法,做到点画灵动,开合有致,气韵生动,大气磅礴。八九十年代以来,多次参加国内外书法大展,作品进入日本、加拿大、美国、英、法、德、意、香港。1998年荣获《和平杯》国际金奖。文学方面,主攻诗词,改革开放以来,创作近百首诗词,热情讴歌中国四十年来取得的翻天覆地的变化、文明古国壮美景观,日新月异的新面貌。建国六十周年,全国诗词格言大赛,获得特别金奖,受到国人青睐,晓山先生是国家-级书法师,国际羲之画院副院长,中国当代名家诗词学会副会长。二00九年被中国文联聘任为中国文联主席团成员,宋庄国际书画院选定小山先生为终身院长。
