Xu Rumao was born in 1952 in the ancient city of Langzhong, Sichuan. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Southwest Normal University in 1995, under the guidance of Mr. Fang Fengfu and various masters of Chengdu painter Qin Tianzhu.
Currently, he is a member of the Sichuan Artists Association and a special painter of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Painting Academy of China.
Over the past decades, Ru Mao has quietly worked hard and achieved fruitful creative results. He is good at Chinese freehand brushwork of flowers and birds, with a fresh and elegant style, and his works have a strong regional charm of ancient cities.

In 2007, Mr. Xu Rumao was hired by the Art College of Yunnan University to teach for one year, and then returned to Sichuan due to physical discomfort. In 2013, he was employed by Langzhong Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, and has also established Xu Rumao Studio in the ancient city of Zhangfei Temple. Here, I will give full play to what I have learned and make contributions to cultural tourism in the ancient city.
徐如茂，1952年生于四川阆中古城。1995年毕业于西南师大美术学院，师从方凤富先生和成都画家秦天柱诸师。
现为四川省美术家协会会员、中国香港特区画院特聘画师。 数十年来, 如茂默默躬耕,创作成果颇丰。他擅长中国写意花鸟画,画风清新典雅,作品颇具古城地域风韵。2012年,他创作的花鸟画佳作<<闲情逸致>>入选“第二届希望.圆梦杯全国书画展”,并获优秀作品奖。国画<<忽看世界变繁华>>入选“全国国画精品展” 。2013年,可谓是徐如茂先生创作丰收年,所作国画<<永恒的传奇>>入选“纪念毛泽东同志诞辰120周年全国书画精品展”, 并获优秀作品奖。<<生命的轮回>>入选“百岁人生杯全国书画大展”,亦获优秀作品奖。<<守望家园>>入选“龙年杯全国书画大展”,<<舒心的日子>>入选“首届蔡文姬奖杯全国书画大展”,<<有功夫读书谓之福>>入选“雅颂徐霞客全国书画邀请赛大展”,并获优秀作品奖。另外, 如茂还有诸多作品被国内外美术馆、博物馆、纪念馆及藏家珍藏。2007年徐如茂先生应云南大学艺术学院之聘,在学院任教一年，之后由于身体不适回川。2013年受聘于阆中市文旅局,亦在古城张飞庙设立徐如茂工作室至今。在此发挥其所学,为古城文化旅游多有奉献。
