在绘画生涯中陈永刚还长期得到刘文西、白德松导师、林刚教授、林木先生等国画大师和高级画师李国钦前辈的谆谆教诲和点评指正，并结下了深厚的情谊，使陈永刚的鹰在祖国大地上飞翔。
陈永刚经常奔赴青藏高原、新疆，云南，蒙古草原，海南等地釆风，以画会友。
至今受邀参加各类书画大展大赛40余次，获金银铜奖多次，余均获得优异成绩。
2019年是他的丰收年，在央视第19界世纪大採风，现场比拼创作后接受央视专题採访，同年获在中央电视台中国书画传承艺术名家，2019年参加“新时代 大国工匠”中国最具影响力国画家总决赛铜奖
